Play Mode Clarification?

Commander – Napoleon at War is the second in a series of high level turn based strategy games. It spans the Napoleonic Wars from 1805 to 1815, allowing players to control France or the Coalitions against it through the entire period or in shorter scenarios. Easy to learn, with fun and addictive gameplay, this is a Napoleonic wargame in the style of the old "Panzer General".

Play Mode Clarification?

Post by lancerunolfsson »

I have not bought this game yet. What I am getting from the game description is that the game is played as either the French or the coalition. And that one can not play as for instance just Austria or Just Prussia vs the other nations making enemies allies etc. I'm thinking that if I am stuck playing as either just the coalition or France it's a very limited game for replay and probably a deal breaker for $50.00 that makes it like a $20.00 game tops.

Thanks for your time

There are scenarios where you can play just one country, Austria vs France in 1809 scenario for example. If you play 1812 scenario and are Coalition you will be playing only Russia. There are plenty more examples of it. Scenarios range from 6-190 turns so you can pick one that suits the time you have at your disposal for the day. [:)]

Thanks Johan

I seem to recall this is a game that can be modified through text files? So is possible to create scenarios of any group of nations vs any group so long as France is overlord of one side? Are files text or XML?

There is no diplomacy correct?
