Difference between using "WWII Campaign" or "Campaign Generator"?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Difference between using "WWII Campaign" or "Campaign Generator"?

Post by mikul82 »

Sorry if this is a redundant question, but I searched a few times here and couldn't find anything.

As above, what is the difference, if any, between using the "WWII Campaign" option, or the "Campaign Generator one, other than setting the campaign length and amount of battles you wish to play? I can't seem to find a comparison between the two here or in the SP:WaW manual...

The WW2 campaign will allow you to play the 'big 6' nations, and roughly follow historical timelines and opponents, with some choices on which theater you fight in. Weather and terrain will vary based on location and time of year.

The Campaign Generator will allow you to play any nation versus any other nation. You pick the terrain type to fight in for the campaign, the number of battles, and the start/end dates. You are stuck with these options for the campaign, so there is less variety this route, but you can play US Army versus the US Marines and Russia if you wish (you actually can pick three opponents that the computer will choose from for each battle). The Spanish Civil war could be played, or WW3 agaist the Russians, etc.

Both campaigns offer good points and bad points.
