not sure if this is old news or well known information but there is a huge wealth of very detailed information on the Japanese navy, weapons etc done just after the war.

great reading and i suspect very interesting for any WITP buff.

many of the reports are still listed as restricted, but as they are on a public web site i imagine that they have well and truely been down graded.

UH?.....ya actually going to read this stuff? If I was into game design in the Pacific theater I would hire so,one to distill all this rather dry and tech heavy stuff for me..but that is just me if ya at into this kind of stuff great go to it....me I can wait for the game.

There is a lot of very good data in those reports. I have read most of them concerning IJ aviation and aerial weapons.

Keep in mind that even these documents must be read critically. Otherwise you will come away with the belief that there were 17.7in guns aboard the battleship Yamamoto.

What you say is true. But that is true with many historical documents as many of them are based upon this kind of data. The documents do give a good insight into what the Japanese were attempting and how far they had progressed. It also gives a very good insight into some of the weapons capabilities and/or modifications.
