crash extream...rebooting PC

Post by ANZAC_Tack »

getting massive crashes.

played first battle, right at end, like good old CCV 00:00 crash, but 1000% worse, it reboots my machine after a long pause in black and only mouse curser can be moved, cont/alt/del, 'windows' buttons all non responsive. i briefly even see old win98 "BSOD'blue screen of death. its BAD!

happened again just then, german moral collapsed, and BSOD, reset.

my rig.

winXPsp3
2*2 gig corsair DDR2 ram 800mhz
AMD 5800 2.8 gig dual core
G9900 512 meg graphics card Nvidia
2*250 gig HDD 7200 rpm

AVG8 free+Spybot anti virus.

Vtune,
it automatically adjuts fan speed, when my pc starts, fan at 100%(fast) then my 'target' speed is 'slow' 30%,during games like CoD4 and WaR it gets to 50% speed, from about 50 to 70c. a pc can survive to about 90c before damage,my fan tops at 100% at about 82c,it has never got close yet.

ANZAC_Tack,

Glad to hear it doesn't sound like the heat problem a few have reported.

Can you think of any hardware or driver changes from when you successful ran the beta's to now with the retail release?

My first guess would be a Nvidia graphics card driver. A couple of people have had to change the anti-aliasing options to application controlled (or disabled).

Anti-aliasing options tried...no effect...WAR is still heating up my 8600GT [:(]

Sounds like something may be amiss with your
winXPsp3
2*2 gig corsair DDR2 ram 800mhz
AMD 5800 2.8 gig dual core
G9900 512 meg graphics card Nvidia
2*250 gig HDD 7200 rpm
19" LCD DVI
AVG8 free+Spybot anti virus.
system

Either driver incompatibility or similar.

well i thought that also.
but its been playing HIGH END FPS LIKE COD4 with amazing results, i neally blew my bolt! i played it for hours...and fan speed didnt go over slow(under 65c) that i noticed, maybe medium,up to 75c,u can hear is scream at high 76c+.
its originally laoded with CD rom drivers, but after first crash went to Nvidia, got latest driver by automatic finder, installed and u seen the results..says NO problem, so WTF? no beta problems.

ill try CoI and CCMT, and early Beta of WaR(if any work) or early CCVreb to test.
IF other CC has no problems, i have been backing up my system, photos, etc and will format. Very painfull time wise, takes me 8 hrs work,or about 3 days to get back to where i was, weeks to get all those little programs loaded. NOT HAPPY JAN LOL[:-]

I'm having the same issues ANZAC and nothing pisses me off more than spending money on a game that doesn't work unless it is a board mod telling me it's my system. Well coded games run on my machine.
