I have resolved my issues with JTCS and VISTA. There is None

I think he was just trying to clean up any last remaining residual issues.

I think Candy is the perfect example of residual stuff coming back to bite you in the arse.  Wasn't Candy Ben's illegitimate son or some long lost (and presumably forgotten) son from a previous marriage (about which no one wants to talk)?

no...candy was a associate of adam who disappeard and presumable went to sea....candy served on his sailing ship and grew tired of the life and came to his friends home and became family.

That sounds more like Hop Sing, but I'll take your word for it.

I remember Adam left, but I don't remember why. I remember Candy showed up, but I don't remember if he showed up when Adam left.

I have this vague idea that one of them, possibly Adam, had a different mother.

I thought the actor who played Adam also played Trapper John, MD.
