OT: Revamped Movies

Post by Charbroiled »

Just an FYI

I heard yesterday that the following movies will be rereleased today on Blu-ray CDs. The movies are nicely enhanced to HD quality and have some nice commentary with them.

The Longest Day
A Bridge too Far
The Sand Pebbles
Battle of Britain
Patton

Let's see... I have Battle of Britain and A Bridge Too Far on both VHS and DVD. I don't think that I need to go to Blue Ray just yet...

You will love the difference on Blu-ray. The improvemt is MUCH greater than it was between VHS and DVD. "The Longest Day" was awesome, and that was in black and white.

Here are some FAQ's about blu-ray.[:)]
I used to say I would never get a dvd player because vhs tapes were fine for my eyes, well I was wrong but my eyes are not that good to justify a blu-ray player atm.
DVD and HD TV are good enough for me.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

For some reason, Sand Pebbles was only released on DVD within the last year. Legal hassles I suppose.

A Bridge too Far is great until the Cliff character from Cheers has a line. For some reason I never noticed it until I had it on tape. It's too jarring for words.

Gee... thanks... I have that film on tape and DVD and I've never noticed his bit yet.

I'm sure to never miss it from now on. If it's as bad as you say, I'm blaming you for waking me up to it! [:'(]
