Play Analyzer 1.0

Post by Deft »

I have finally gotten this to where I think it can be useful.

Here is the program. It runs as a macro in Excel.
http://www.fbmax.com/uploads/playanalyzer%20v1.0.xls
Purpose and function:
I started working on this to give me a better feel with my play and profile design. I think it could also be useful in online leagues for policing trick plays and gameplanning against opponents. I hope to expand this in the future to include more analysis, the kicking game, and highlight big plays.
Tracks the play selection for offense and defense for both home and away teams using gamelog text files. It then sorts them from most yards to least. It also collects them by down.

Instructions:
After saving locally
Go into excel and open the file "playanalyzer v1.0.xls"
Click the "run" button and select a game log in the maxfb game log directory that was generated in 2.2 or more recent
It will automatically save as the league play analyzer in your league's game log directory

Sorry, guys I think fbmax crashed shortly after I uploaded and Shaggy had to go with an older save.

I have updated it and added a game summary page, that has a scoring summary.  The game summary piece is really in alpha testing so I think safeties are not recorded in the summary.

It works great and very detailed
It took me while to figure out how to bypass the macro security in excel

But it was worth the effort

Awesome work

Play Analyzer v1.2 is absolutely fantastic and anyone who runs a league needs to use this tool.  I have one question based upon something that I saw.

Is there anyway we could convince you to throw a 1.3 up there that puts Rogues in the scoring summary?

The scoring summary is awesome - it should tell you something that this isn't even available via Madden so you've really picked up something good here.

I was thinking about adding a stat retreiver to the program but I stopped when David said the gamelogs were to be revised in the next version. But since we haven't heard anything for months, I might begin again.

Please do, Deft. This is something we will all likely use, I sure will.
