Any chance of some new screenshots please?

Post by goodboyladdie »

Please may we have some new screenshots to drool over? I understand a lot of things are not finished, but it would be really nice to see some of the new stuff.

Yours very hopefully

Yes I did, thanks.

They are a fantastic insight, but I was wondering if there were some aircraft and Naval screenshots too... (greedy? Moi?)

What would you like to see?

Anything you think is cool and is relatively finished would do T, Old Chap. I have looked at the initial screenshots and the ones Andy so kindly posted so many times trying to enjoy every detail. We have heard so many great things about new aircraft and other goodies, may we see some of those, please? As far as when goes, I am glad you guys are wanting to get it as right as you can before release and really appreciate all the hard work. It would be nice to be thrown the odd piece of eye candy to help us through the wait...

Aircraft sides are pretty much the only things we can't show, as the set is not complete yet. With 570 distinct pieces of art, it's a BIG job, and I don't envy the art team.

Most of us envy the team as they will have the end product first!

Grateful for their work, all members...[8D]

I envy their ability at art.  I cannot draw a straight line with a ruler.  And I admit I fall into the "Most of us" category as well.

Okay, I found one little screenie I'll show. It's not a "new" airplane as such, but I think it shows off some of the new features in both the air model and the editor well. Notice the following:

- It's a RNZAF SBD-3 (a US plane, but considered Kiwi). Thus separate art, build rates, etc.
- It's got different maneuverability ratings for different altitudes.
- You can set a maintenance interval (how long it takes to fix a damaged plane of the type).
- It's got centerline MG's (more accurate than "Front" MG's). Unlike in CHS, they're not specific centerline MG devices; instead there's a new position.

Thanks T. Now you're everybodys best mate!!

The extra detail looks fantastic.

Why are none of the 'type' options selected? (eg. Heavy bomber, light bomber, carrier capable, etc). And are they really only available from 7/43 until 2/44? At 7 per month (a total of 56 AC)? With no upgrade? And is the engine really a 'weapon'??

SOOOO many questions?

LUV the little 'range in hexes' box. Great idea.

Please T. Can we have some more?? Please?

None of the checkboxes are ticked because they all have to do with what sort of base facilities are needed for the plane in question. This one is a dive bomber, so it can be based at any size 1+ airfield, but unlike its USN cousins, it's not carrier-capable (no New Zealand Air Force SBD pilots trained for that role).

The SBD-3 is only available for that short period, until it's replaced in RNZAF use by the SBD-5. And the "engine" device is no different from its Japanese counterparts. This hints a little bit at the Allied production model. You're not getting a full Allied production model (i.e. a copy of the Japanese model), but some production will take place.

Great editor, looks a lot better than the old one

BTW,
It says a crew of 1 for that aircraft but has a "Top Rear" facing 30 cal
Does the pilot have to man both weapons or is it assumed the pilot is not part of the crew?
Moscow by winter? Only if you send Fast Heinz to Kiev.

Still a work in progress. The C-47, for another example, is quoted for 2 crew, although it would normally fly with 3 or 4.

I can post one more.

(edit) but here instead of the naval thread. It's still locked after some nastyness.
