Project "Iron Age"

We are full.

If you are playing, be sure I have your email address. Also, we will be using the Kriegspiel form to keep track of the game, taunt other players, and irritate the masses.

Random, multi-player, low tech, shrouded map. Map size determined by number of players. (Probably works best with five to six players.)

Settings:
Width = 20 times the number of players (max 100)
Height = 10 times the number of players
Players = (variable; 3 to 9)
Land = 60%
Rivers = 30
Forest = 40
Mountains = 40
Towns = 12 times the number of players
Roads = 0
City Size = 2
Research = 400%
Swamp = 15

Options:
Map Loop (no one gets placed in an "advantageous" corner)
Shrouded Map
Fog of War
Shroud
AI Optimization
Passwords
Anti-Supply
Anti-PBEM Cheat

Full 1st Level Tech is NOT SELECTED.
No "shared" victories. This one goes to the last man standing.
Fast players please. (Hoping for a 24 hour turnaround.)

Players (5 or 6 depending on interest):
1) SailingGuy
2) Herode2
3) Tac2
4) all5n
5) Iron Knight
6) seille

Game over for me. No way/too late to escape my starting island. Deep Country surrenders. Don't forget to update your mailing list [;)]

Tips i gave you did not help?
Only rifle and cargo ships in the first turns and explore in all directions.

I started from such a island myself in Iron Age II.....

That's what I did in both Iron Age games. As you said, I've lucky enough to find a land if IA2 and to have just enough time for landing units and taking a city and some villages. Things will be difficult but too easy ain't no fun [:'(].

In this Iron Age (1), it's just impossible for me to land anywhere : I found the land too late, they are garrisonned, I am far behind all other players in terms of VP, hence production, I can't do much more.

Mhh, yes then you had bad luck indeed that too many players started too close to you.
Such a situation is hopeless.
Maybe you get a big island next time.
