Let's please stop talking about the ASD related syndromes, except in the designated thread. Having just watched a movie on Autistic children (called, funnily enough, Autism: The Musical), it is not a designation to be tossing lightly back and forth. It is very serious and can truly complicate people's lives.

About EU:Rome. Troops are levied similar to EU, where you build them. Only certain provinces can build certain troops, depending on what resource a province has. Thus, if you have Iron, you can make heavy infantry, with wood, Ships and Archers. All provinces have one type of resource, but you can trade this resource via trade routes to three other provinces (at least Rome can, so many it is trade tech related). These trade routes bring money and also bring the special benefit of the good (adds to buildables, gives pop growth, lowers revolt risk).

EU: Rome is out, got my copy.  Close to EU:3.  So far not a bad game.

My Collectors edition should arrive soon, it does appear to have some elements of Crusader Kings which imo is a good thing[:)].

Not sure if this is obvious but Caesar 3 is an excellent empire/ city builder that holds up well to repeated plays. The only thing that I don't like about it is that there are Roman gods to placate, and although I'm sure most Romans really did try to placate the gods by holding festivals etc for the modern gamer it seems a bit, well, silly to be honest.

A free download/gift of EU:Rome available now(dd'ing now) as well as the usual extras....poster, etc. Not to overlook a custom avatar and entry to the Collectors Edition forums which has its perks[:)].

Only problem with the download is you really need a manual with these games...and I hate PDFs...especially BIG pdfs.

I don't mind buying a game on DD with a small(ish) manual (PC:K) or one which doesn't need a manual (Armed Assault)...but a game like this you need a manual, and if it's printed, I like the pre-printed one.

So I will have to wait.

Oh...and I wasn't paying the extra for the Collectors Edition [:-]

Pdf file is a mere 99 pages long. I agree with you but I'm not as patient. Game downloaded and the Greeks are feeling my wrath,

I was actually coming on here to correct myself....

I've just fired up EUIII again and needed some help so picked up the manual...and then I realised.....Paradox manuals are GAWD awful...woefully bad. They have all the required info...but trying to find the stuff! The table of Contents is the worst I've ever come across and no index either....bad, bad manuals to try and find things in...

So download, here I come...

Mind you...the b&%tards want €39.99 which is £34....and I could get the game from Play.com for £24.99.

So I think I will wait after all.

Thanks,
