No sign of enemy 4Es, cv's or anything. I'm increasing patrol activity in all zones and
sending out more subs with search planes. Expecting an enormous armada to pop up somewhere.

Think we have some 30 AP in the Home Islands - will try to distribute them:
10k Kyushu - 10K Central - 10k Hokkaido.

There are now 624 operational Shindens and 880 in the pools.

The last fleet is slowly being put back in shape, Yamato down to 21 sys.
Last night I saw the Yamato movie to get some inspiration, not sure it helped [;)]

Today I ordered 2 sweeps on Ishieak before the bombings to see whether this made the CAP

Another solid raid then came in: As I said, no problem launching ground attacks - only naval attacks.
Despite a massive escort by 113 fighters the remaining 17 CAP fighters gunned down 46 of our fighters - gave me a good laugh!
Well, then we now that sweeps aren't very effective in disrupting CAP.

Today I ordered our bombers in at low altitude, including strafing. Little flak indicates that the LCU's are mostly
engineers. 1350 casualties and we torched 19 Mustangs on the ground. Not bad.

We're into October! Spotted several enemy fleet carriers south of Bonins today - at least they're
not escorting a monster armada somewhere else [;)]

We did manage to make Andy react to our strikes on Ishieak today - also caught a medium
bomber raid with Shindens.

Managed to surprise Andy today: 41 Shindens on LRCAP over Pescadores met the Invaders
that came unescorted. A but disappointed with the result. While 18 enemy CAP fighters can
shoot down 60 of our fighters, we only got 9 Invaders and 22 damaged (some fell down).

Saw another convoy heading west from Marcus past Bonins yesterday - a strike force in Bonin

the empty transports of Iwo and was clouded in PM. The other provided an Uber CAP that was more
than enough to shoot down the entire strike. No way to get through here.

2 of our subs went passed the hex with the enemy troop convoys and carriers - no contact....

Lots of action today and some good results, but I'm again left with this annoying feeling
about what could have been achieved....

Talked to Andy about the B-29s and he says they were put on naval search by mistake as he have
large mixed groups of 4Es in the PIs.

I've found that barges are no longer spawning [&:]
Is there a limit for how many that can be spawned or is this a bug?

Enemy CV's move out of range of LBA and 4Es hammer bypassed bases on Borneo, PIs and DEI.

I've supplied 250+ aviation support for many major airfield in the Home Islands. Will try to put

Andy has redeployed his subs, crawling all around the East China Sea and into the Inland Sea.
Ordered more bombers on naval search and achieved numerous spottings and 2 hits today.

Enemy carrier TFs continues to prowl around.
Tried to get a shot at them, but again not enough escort fighters followed in. Really annoying
since a lot more were available. Only 1 Ohka bomber got through but failed to hit.

Another strike had more luck and found the troop convoy SW of Iwo with only light CAP.
The CVE Anzio in the convoy attracted most bombers and 2 torps ripped her flight deck open after
a fuel explosion and left her dead in the water.

Give up with the big TFs boss, the Anzio style looks much more profitable to me [8D]
Strike him where he's weak and run amok among his convoies, that's where you may expect to hit him most, as everything else is way too protected by now!

You're right Fish. Think Andy is baiting our bombers - he has reduced the number of CAP fighters
on his TFs. Nice of him to give us a fighting chance [8|]

Still, I need to figure out why my naval bombers and escort fighters doesn't launch major strikes.
I've found that the fighters should be set to 0% CAP and escort missions only - this increase the chance
that they follow the bombers. I'm also trying different types of leaders for units and Air HQs. Also
increasing number of bombers that are on naval search.

Not much luck today, we got close and inflicted some damage, but I have to stand down again and try to build
multiple supporting bases with 150 bombers and 150 fighters in each and then hope this will increase our chances
in the future.

In order to hit a convoy, like the one CVE Anzio escorted, I have to put a sizeable number of bombers and fighters
on naval attack and the chance is they will attack a heavily escorted target 4 out of 5 times. There are really
not a lot of weak spots, and each little victory, like the sinking of CVE Anzio cost a lot of ac.

Some good news; we hit another enemy subs and attacked another 4-5.
Hopefully we can defeat them again.

2 enemy Carrier TFs are 5 hexes south west of Tokyo and 5 hexes south east of Kadina.
I had prepared for some 300 fighters and 300 bombers to prepare strikes: any attack with 100
fighers and 50-100 bombers would have a pretty good chance of inflicting damage on enemy fleet carriers.
Would be nice to reduce their numbers before the major show down.

The first AM raid was fairly well escorted and I had some hopes that some bombers would get
through, but again - nope. 40 fighters and 60 bombers is way to little.
We need the same type of strikes that the Army bombers launched against Ishieak but somehow this just doesn't materialize.

The USS Maipiro was sunk by a 250kg bomb from a Betty. Wanted to check if it launched
a torpedo. The Maipiro was the 150th enemy sub to be sunk [:D] Worth a little celebration.

Most enemy subs have been sunks by depth charges and bombs.
Of all our lost subs 1 was lost to a torpedo and 1 to our own mines....

We have sunk 32 escort carriers and 12 fleet/light carriers.

We've been told speed is a very important factor in attack. That may explain how your Reppus manage to penetrate more easily the enemy fighter screen without playing with the max Alt. trick.

If I take a look at the database, I see that fastest attack planes, like the Dinah or the Myrt, can only bring pathetic 30kg bombs with them. But I see that our beloved Ki-84a is bringing 2x250 with him at a very honorable original speed...
Did you try already to set up a test kamikaze Ki-84 unit? I know they're a precious piece of hardware... but well.

Enemy carriers lurks near the Home Islands - our kamis await them....
Me thinks Andy is moving some serious hardware to the PI's and is guarding them.
Not much we can do about this.

3rd Armored is rebuilding at Nagasaki, up to 100+ AV and 60 tanks. Another couple of months
and it will be back in full strength.

This could be true Fish, but as you say, the Franks are so highly valuable that I don't want
to convert them to kamis since it's impossible to convert them back. Just wait for the mother of all battles,
then all remaining ac will be thrown at the enemy [:D]

I know this Troll, but I've admitted that I cannot sink his troop ships before they finish unloading...
My bombers will target his warships first. I don't care overly much about his CV's - can't sink them all.
What I've been trying to achieve is how to launch major naval air strikes. Unless I can dispatch 5-600 bombers and fighters in
large wave we're toast [:'(]

So the best we can do is to prevent Andy from capturing his intended target and isolate the troops like we did on Iwo.
With 10k AP this will be very difficult, but we have to try!

What we need is a strategy for how to proceed:
How should be deploy our Armies?
How, were and when should we deploy our AF?
When should we deploy the remainder of the fleet and were?

Good answers appreciated [;)]

Nothing interesting to report today.
Enemy cv's keep out of range while small and medium strikes of enemy bombers
hit targets throughout PI, Borneo and India.

Yamato is down to 20 sys....can we fix her all up before her next action - so she can eat another
12 x 1000 lb bombs that cause another 40 sys damage [8|]

Fuso is down to 5 sys and heavy cruisers Takao has 21. The wrecked CL Noshiro has been moved to a major
yard and is at 77 system. Given up on the Hyuga and Yamashiro, still at 60/70 sys and I doubt they can be
fixed by the end of the war. Maybe we can patch em up for bombardment duty.

It seems that the higher speed the kami the more effective it is --- even without a good escort... So, what other high speed high payload fighters/fighter-bombers do you have?

You are using reppu as kamikaze attack planes??[X(]

The resluts looks pretty good! But why they let the CVE go?[&:][&:]

And, what is the exp of the kami squadron?

I think its good that the kamiz targets the transports instead of warships!

As this will lead to weaker beach assaults! And it would be great if you could sink a "/a" part of av division so it wouldn't rebuild.

We just talked about that, looks like PzB is not ready yet to use Franks that way [:D]
Myrt C and late Dinah are speedy boys too, but they only carry 2x30kg... [:(]
