installing PacWar

Post by madgamer2 »

It seems that I can install the game but it will not run under XP Pro so has anyone got an idea other than using a virtual PC program

You need to set up a shortcut with the memory settings etc in the right place.

memory:

conventional - auto;  protection box unchecked

ems - none

xms at 2048, uses hma

msdos protected mode dpmi memory - auto

screen set to window, restore settings at start-up, fast rom emulation, dynamic memory allocation all checked.

under the program tab set it to run in a normal window and close on exit.

Should run, but the window can crash into a mini box if another program such as anti virus auto runs.

But to get it to work really properly I suggest you download DOSBox-0.65\ and dfend.exe (which are free).
