What are they shouting after victory??

Post by trollelite »

I suppose Japanese should shout "BANZAI!" after they successfully capture somewhere? But it doesn't sound like that ! Instead, it sounds like something as "HOYO!" (or "Hi,ya"?[:D])

The allies shout is more ridiculous. Are you sure it's a celebration, not some kind of witch-chant?? [&o]

This is perhaps the problem we could never solve until witp10 out... Actually I enormously enjoy the shout, at least Japanese one.

Cobra is the sfx replacement guru.[&o]

He might have a better soundtrack available.
He did a few a while back, they're at Spookys.

PM him and ask.[;)]

Odd - sounds like BANZAI to me... the Allied one sounds like they recorded it during a company picnic after drinking a lot of beer...

You can always swap out (or delete) a soundtrack - iirc, they are just WAV files (renamed SFX)... record your own to say "trollelite RULES !!!" when your forces take a base!

[:)] I'd like to hear something more "authentic " , like a "raspberry" or  "upyours" , maybe a bugle call. (I mean the allies. The Japanese definately sound like they are yelling Banzai). Maybe one of you southern types could record a "rebel yell"?   Being from Maine originally , the best I can manage is a very determined sounding "Ayhuh".  [8|]

Spooky is hosting a sound file I offered some time back to replace the Allied "cheer" which has often been likened to a drunken orgy.
Mine is a clip from a John Wayne movie when the bugle plays as the flag is being raised.
Clip sounds good to me as there is still gunfire going on in the background.

The Japanese stock soundfile is indeed "Banzai"..

I think the Allied celebration call is about right - it's a subdued HipHipHip Hooray thing; as the Allied player has numerous nationalities under command, it would be difficult to give it more of a national feel (ie, the rebel yell) without excluding everyone else. Personally, I'm happy to hear it whenever I play Allied, don't care what it sounds like!
