Differences from People's Tactics

Post by jeffreysutro@jeffreysutro.com »

I was wondering how Advanced Tactics differs from People's Tactics. I am quite impressed with People's Tactics, and will probably get Advanced Tactics (I'm putting it on my Christmas list), but I'm interested in what changes were made in Advanced Tactics. Thank you for any information you can give me.

Some of the changes:

-minimap
-scrolling map by mouse
-VERY FLEXIBLE EDITOR
-no longer 4 subformationtypes limit
-strategic map
-statistics
-production overview
-engineers (can create locations and roads/bridges or blow up)
-strategic air attack
-action cards (GREAT !!!)
-better graphics
-MUCH BETTER combat system (like day and night....)
-more detailled combat history
-much improved random game creator (with some special features for PBEM)
-and a lot more !!

Alone the editor and probably lots of coming great scenario´s
and the random game creator are worth to buy it in my eyes.

Ive played PT fpr abput a month before AT came out. Tbh its simple really. If you like the concept of PT but thought it lacked polish and features then you will love AT becouse it adds all you could possibly want, well almost.

I didnt like PT that much either really. But that was mostely becouse of the GUI that left much to be desiered. and some other stuff as i would classify as being lack of polish due to vic being a one man dev team with a single artist as support.
What i did like in PT is the core concepts/game design. it just needed a better wrapper which AT brought.

ORIGINAL: seille

(like day and night....)

Do you mean "night and day better" or have you come across a method of simulating night combat?
