Not that I know of. Download is via GamersGate, I think the installer (Gamersgate) downloads and installs (small install) and you download and play. Gamersgate is a bit like Steam...it's easy to keep track of your games. You can start the gamersgate downloader anytime and get the latest patches...

tbh, I'm not the best person to answer. I have bought from Paradox, and used gamersgate, but I'm not really sure of the "intricacies" of the purchase. I buy a game, download it, burn it, install it and play it...that's it to me.

Two things I stay away from...Starforce and restricted installs...neither of which (to my knowledge) are present in gamersgate

GamersGate FAQ

one thing that is clear from the FAQ is an internet connection...which kind of goes without saying seeing as they are download only...

I had steam download with my latest graphics card upgrade. It was packaged with the download but I was afraid to use it. Not knowing if it was something like starforce. So steam is OK?

I think Steam is fine and easy to use.

I just don't trust any of these download managers. They're not exactly WYSIWYG, you know.

History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.
