Data on naval forces in 1914

Post by hjaco »

I have made this analysis of the various naval forces to get a better understanding of naval force appropriation in 1914.

DN PD + PD - BC CA DD
Britain 5 2 0 2 6 6
France 2 0 3 0 1 6
Russia 0 +1 0 1 0 2 2
Italy 1 0 1 0 2 3
America 2 2 0 0 2 2

Germany 3 2 0 1 4 8
AH 2 +1 0 0 0 1 2
OE 0 0 1 1 1 1

Quality 2 2 4 2 2 2
Guns 9 5 6 7 3 2
Protection 22 14 5 15 9 4
Speed 3 2 2 4 4 5

Notes

1) Russia & AH each has one PD with same characteristics as a DN.

2) Be very careful about using PD. The ship types varies a lot. I have chosen to make to columns of PD. Those near BC strength (PD +) and those under Cruiser strength (PD -). The numbers are examples of respective British and French PD.

3) I have no clue to when additional ships are made available though i know for sure that both Britain and Germany gets an additional DN.

4) It seems Quality is better if lower, more guns increases odds of scoring hits, protection definitely equals "hit points". I have no clue how o rate speed but higher is better of course.
