John Tiller’s Campaign Series Now Available

Post by Alex Fiedler »

A whopping 350 scenarios stretching through every major WWII theater now available for purchase in one handy compilation

Matrix Games and Campaign Series Legion are proud to announce the release of John Tiller’s Campaign Series, a compilation of the popular World War II turn-based tactical games from Talonsoft’s Campaign Series. Combining the greatest previous releases from the Campaign Series into one package, this software bundle will keep tactical combat fans glued to their seats as they battle through the full retail versions of West Front, East Front, East Front 2, and the Rising Sun platoon-level combat series, as well as all of the official add-ons and expansion packs.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “We’re very pleased to be working with Campaign Series Legion team, especially when it’s to bring gamers an affordable yet high quality compilation of their award winning Campaign Series. With this many critically acclaimed titles in just one package, gamers needn’t look any further for the ultimate in turn-based WWII tactical combat. Since John Tiller’s Campaign Series also comes pack with new content and features, this compilation is truly an incredible deal”

John Tiller’s Campaign Series offers more than 350 scenarios, fought by more than 20 countries stretching from France to the American coast. Players can reinforce their countrymen at the Western Front or swarm Japanese strongholds on their way to the Japanese mainland. Witness and take part in the immense armor battles of the Eastern Front or even protect the U.S. coast from Japanese invasion. No matter which side the player chooses to fight on, they can now experience every theatre of the Second World War down and dirty in the foxholes of Europe and the Pacific!

John Tiller’s Campaign Series is more than just a simple compilation of the best and most engrossing titles of the Campaign Series product line. Matrix Games’ John Tiller’s Campaign Series also includes a whole pile of new content and features to make it well worth the buy for newcomers to the series and veterans alike. Gamers who purchase this unique Campaign Series compilation will get to see hundreds of new unit types for almost every country. (see sample screenshot) These new units don’t just include small variations on already available equipment as the Campaign Series Legion has spent countless hours creating and perfecting specialty units like: Cossacks, operational trains, Chinese Junks and Sampans, river gunboats, captured equipment, siege mortars, river ferries, German landing barges, sea going warships (for the Baltic), amphibious tanks, mine clearing tanks, and dozens of pre-war models and prototypes and even more! Furthermore, fans of the nuanced battles of WWII will be elated to see the inclusion of nations like French Indochina, the Netherlands East Indies, Thailand, Nationalist and Communist China, and the Soviet Union for Rising Sun or Bulgaria, Nationalist and Republican Spain, Croatia, Iran, Iraq, Albania, Brazil, Ethiopia for West Front. These new nations add a fantastic layer of complexity and historical realism that gamers have not yet seen with the Campaign Series titles. Also, players will be thrilled to see added functionality with a variety of the all-new units.

When will this be able to be purchased in the UK as a boxed/DVD boxed item rather than digital download only. I work from home I would like this installed on both my home pc and travel laptop. From a licensing point of view this is controlled by me needing to have the cd in the tray of the machine I am using   Very keen to get this but will not buy a down load copy only unless there is a way around this   Thanks

I purchase all games these days by digital download.   I too have a home PC and a travelling PC.   Some games are installed on both but there is only one of me ( fortunately) so I can only use one PC at a time.    Usually the license allows this. -

The physical boxes should be available for purchase from our e-store (we have a separate one for EU and UK) in the next few days. Stay tuned for a separate announcement in the CS forum on this board.

You are allowed to install the product on two machines, desktop and laptop. Non of our products requires to have the CD in the drive while playing.

Hi,

I assume you then just copy over the downloaded game/files via memorystick / DVD and then unpick individually on PC and laptop. I always prefer a box copy in case laptops and PC's get upgraded or at worst a hard disk failure

I'll wait for a Matrix update of when these are available.

In terms of licensing you are correct, this is the same even with the the Bill Gates MS products. They can be on multi machines and only one copy at any one time can be in use. A bit like floating licenses in a business environment
