Future of System Poll...

Post by barbarossa2 »

Many of us have favorite eras/fronts we'd like to see Panther do with this series after COTA and Bulge. I am curious, if you were in a store and you could buy ONLY TWO of the following titles using this system, which would they be?

-Battles in Normandy
-Kursk (and elements of 2 or 3 other battles from 1943, i.e. Kharkov)
-Domino: Korea & Vietnam (Vietnam Incl. French and US, so: Dien Bien Phu, Hue, Pegasus, Ia Drang, etc.)
-Desert Fox (featuring elements of two or three larger battles in Rommel's African career)
-Stalingrad (and the campaign surrounding it)
-Barbarossa, 1941 (focusing on elements of 2 or 3 operations from that year)
-West Wall/Rhine
-Pacific WWII (Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, etc.)
-WWI, 1914 (Tannenberg, Marne, etc.)
AND
-France 1940 (incl. Dunkirk, Arras, Sedan, etc.)

Which would they be?

JUST TWO!!!!!! If you have a copy of COTA please take the time to quickly answer. Even if the subject doesn't interest you terribly. I am just VERY curious. Thanks! Please indicate TWO and only two. It would be great if lengthy debates on this topic and other great ideas be limited to the "A Debate On Engines" thread, since it appears that is where it is going.

Normandy and Kursk (though both of these are slug fests without a lot of maneuever).

But I think this engine would be great for a Korea 50-53 as well and even WWI like Tannenberg and Marne.

This one for sure:
-Domino: Korea & Vietnam (Vietnam Incl. French and US, so: Dien Bien Phu, Hue, Pegasus, Ia Drang, etc.)

About the second one, what do you mean by 'Desert Fox'? The entire North Africa war?
If the above is yes, then why not a 'Battles of the Eastern Front', instead of just 2 residual battles , Kursk and Stalingrad?

gotta agree with Willard there: Desert Fox (aka Rats, Foxes and Sand [;)]) and Barbarossa
I decided to ignore my orders and to take command at the front with my own hands as soon as possible

Now that the original list has been edited:

-Domino: Korea & Vietnam (Vietnam Incl. French and US, so: Dien Bien Phu, Hue, Pegasus, Ia Drang, etc.)
-Barbarossa, 1941 (focusing on elements of 2 or 3 operations from that year)

Domino (if you'll include Commonwealth forces in the Korean battles) and Desert Fox.

Desert Fox and Desert Fox [;)]

[:D] Ditto. It seems to me that the available map/unit size in this engine will fit North Africa very well.

In another year Panther Games exposure in the gaming comunity should be several times larger than what it is now. That will be the time for a killer title release. Then Dave can buy a mansion down on the coast with an adjoining laboratory to reasearch future games.

I can see us all jumping through hoops to be able to run around like gerbils in some excercise wheel inside that lab [:D]

This poll is really interesting!

1. Domino(Vietnam & Korea) : Because My Grandfather fought the battle of Korean War.

2. Desert Fox : Absolutely "What If" historical battle and...Rommel.
