RE: Patch?
That IS good news. Last time they were quick with the turnaround, as I recall.
RE: Patch?
Could we already see what changes, fixes etc. were made in the patch?
RE: Patch?
Dave posted a list of them 10 days ago in this thread. The list covers about 90% of what will be contained in the patch. And much of the remaining 10% has already been discussed here too.
Although the patch has seemed to be imminent for a while which I imagine can be frustrating at times, I cannot think of any other developer who has been as open and transparent about the ongoing work on bug fixes and enhancement to be incorporated into a major patch. Typically, the list of enhancements and fixes only becomes available at most a few days before release when the patch is already complete and it is already in the distribution phase of the process.

Although the patch has seemed to be imminent for a while
Loved every minute of it thank you
RE: Patch?
You're welcome.
I do truly understand how when you are excited about something like a game patch, you keep checking the Web site or the forum everyday. I know it can get frustrating at times wanting the product you bought to be perfect (of course, nothing really ever is) or struggling with whether to play the game now or wait until it has been patched.
Although if the game in question is stable without any game killing bugs, myself, I would probably just play it. Being in the software industry and having spent lots of time analyzing games as computer systems products, I tell you that everything has bugs and issues. At some point, you just simply need to ask yourself the basic question is it fun or not. Once you get past that, you can live with bugs and issues if you have to.
But getting back to "imminent" and "frustration" as I can sympathize that's why I have tried to throw in back stage tour observations of the patch as it evolved. Even if it did mean having to show myself losing to the AI.
It shouldn't be much longer now. Perhaps while waiting it is a good time to get out your German dictionaries and learn some choice phrases like "I surrender!" or "Don't shoot my grandfather is from Hamburg!" especially if you like playing ERG, FCB, or FCV as the Allies.

RE: Patch?
Indeed... now bring it on!
I was unfortuneatly one of those that CTD's made me put it down for the last 3 months. Breaks are not necessarily bad and can make it all fresh again and avoid the dreaded burn out.

RE: Patch?
While you folks wait for the patch, I just want to say I am having a great time playing ... yes, that's right HTTR!
Granted COTA has lots of improvements, but I still find HTTR a lot of fun to play.
For me one of the most interesting parts of replaying HTTR battles is to go find my notes from three years ago and see how my strategy and thinking evolve over the last few years.

Does Signed Off = Created Installer?

Does Signed Off = Created Installer?
Signed Off = ready for release
By this, PG indicates to MG that they are happy with the quality of the thing and that they can make it public.
At that stage not only was installer created, but tested as well, to make sure it contains everything needed.
Cheers,
JeF.

RE: Patch?
So..........I don't get it. Everything is ready to go and Matrix won't put the patch up? It has been more than 24 hours since Arjuna anounced that he signed off. I don't know if this is true or not but if so, it really pisses people off. Sorry, just frustrated.
