let me know what you think.

I doubt you'll do anything but lose those units at Riga. Shock is horrific for the Soviets in DNO, simply save as many units as you can while shock is in effect by fleeing east. Blow bridges and keep units along transportation routes as they run so if they go into reorg due to the shock effects at least they'll be in Germany’s way.

Once the shock effects wear off, then turn and fight. He'll be far ahead of his rail repairs and your units will do a lot better squad for squad (they'll kill far more German squads) then, even though they'll still die a lot.

In the end you have to assume most of your formations will go into reorg status at least once or twice at the minimum during the opening weeks of the game, so you’ll still lose tons of units. But if you get the chance to actually move your units, RUN, don’t try to defend chokepoints like Riga. Germany can simply punch through them as if the river and city wasn’t there and they’ll get surrounded and die.

If you stay far enough ahead and get lucky on the reorg status rolls, you might actually get to save some units for later use.

Your AAR looks great by the way, one of the best I've seen. I'm looking forward to keeping up with it.

Jim

Thank Jim, actually that is the plan but as you said, most of the units that are where they are can't move. Ones that can that cant be railed are going to the nearest choke point to set up. If they are going to get bypassed anyway, I figure i might as well dig them in, ignore looses and take a few of the enemy with them[:D] I like doing AAR,s and I will keep up with this one, as I paid for web space and I want to use it[:)]

Heya,

I would like to hear your thoughts on disbanding units, is it worth doing? If so how and how much have you done it? I am refering to the opening turns where some units that are doomed to die but still in supply.

Cheers,

Capitan
