Why I DO like the named pilot pool, and how to "use" it in pilot training

Post by wild_Willie2 »

Ok, tried to get some named pilots from the pool and it worked [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

This is just a nice bonus on my training program. I can even disband FRAGMENTS into the pool.

WILLIE's training method:

1) Train floats/bombers up through missions in e.g.: china
2) load at Nagoya (or other port near Osaka) into an AK and send to Osaka
3) Wait until 2 planes (or something) are repaired and send those (parent fragment) from Osaka to other base.
4) Disband FRAGMENT into named pilot pool.
5) Fill out the (e.g.: 2/27) parent out with 30 EXP pilots again and start over.

This puppy wil DOUBLE my training program, previously limited to the fighter dantais that where training and not fighting

Not if you fill out your fighter dantai's FIRST by clicking the "add plane and pilot" buttons [;)], THEN filling out your "traning" squads with 30 exp pilots [:D]

He already has a group that needs pilots elswhere, so he simply clicks the get pilots button till they are all used up, then he pulls untrained pilots into the 2/27 group.

I can now train at least an extra 200 naval (floats and transports) and 150 army (transports) pilots from 30 up to 55 -70 experience a month [&o][&o][&o]

Now both sides will have hordes of expert pilots to fill up their replacements.[X(]

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the long run with this modification. [&:]

I see this as the genesis of actually having training squadrons and not having line squadrons serving as training squadrons.

That is how I see it as well.

Yes,
Take advantage of this loophole while you can. I would bet that the on map training expediencies have their days numbered...

I would say that this would ruin the game! For both sides! If the Japs are running out of pilots in 6/42 the Allies are in Tokyo a year later. So there´s no fun for the Allies either.
