The Elf's Poll

Post by TheElf »

Need some user feedback. I'll list the products I have produced, and request anyone who uses them to reply with what you use. Feel free to comment positively or negatively on anything. I am trying to survey the community in an effort to focus in an area where people get enjoyment out of my products. So if you want to see more of something then say so!

BTW. I am aware of some minor alignment issues in the Stock planetops, but PLEASE post anything YOU have seen...I may not have seen it yet. Thanks!

I'm currently using CHS planetops both Allied & Japanese as well as the pinup load screens. Somehow I missed the pinup Savegame screens. [:(] Where are they?!? [;)]

While I'm just one guy, I have to say that I like your work a lot. Thank you - I know a tremendous amount of time most have gone in to them.

I use the CHS planetops, and love them. Check the Hudson, please; it looks a little fuzzy in the latest versions. Also, the Avenger I might be a little off. And have you re-done the Boomerang or is it stock? It looks a little large.

I've used the pinup screens at various times. The savegame screen is my favorite of the group.

I don't use any mods.

Why not?

'Cause I don't. [:'(]

My experience with mods has been that they are more trouble than they are worth. The testing done on them is far below what a professional software company does before selling its product so there are usually unexpected problems down the road. (Granted, we have an exception here.) I feel it is the producing company's responsibility to get the product done right in the first place, not put something out expecting their customers to finish it for them. I'd much rather spend my time actually using the product I paid for than farting around with home-made additions to it.

In WiTP, the existance of mods is complicating and confusing the resolving of problems with the base game. We're getting people argueing across three or four different versions of the game. How can anyone agree on how something is working when some are playing CHS, some RHS, some NikMod, some people some combination of mods and almost no one playing the actual released product?

And finally, mods just don't interest me.

I use the stock plane-tops. Very nice, esp scaling (much better than the default ones!). Great paint jobs. I really like the combat screens themselves.

I would say that the crispness of the tops is a little disappointing. They just look kinda blurry compared to the default ones. Not sure if that's because most of your tops are smaller, maybe that's the reason. But they just look a little "soft" on the edges.

I use the CHS planetoips, I wasn't aware there was one for stock. I'll definitly be using those, since the sizes are completely wrong in stock.

I used your loading and save screens, but then I ended up making my own from pictures I found on the internet. mine have a bit more militaristic feel to them, though I also have a few pinups.

great work BTW! :)
