To continue beating a dead horse...

Post by ragtopcars_slith »

All right, this is a major barn burner...

Earlier I had posted that while playing WITP 1.602 with CHS 1.06 my Imperial Guards division teleported from Chittagong to PM.
After multiple attempts to replay the proceeding turns to see if the same error was generated, the unit still tele'd.
My PBEM buddy and I decided that if Michalm couldn't fix the database, we would charge on like good troopers...

so, we thought we would give it another turn and see how things went[8|]

only to find that after the IG division had gone from Chittagong to PM, now it had managed to use Star Trek technology and get themselves to Townsville[X(] on the next turn...

I think the IJA has decided to do a world wide tour[:-]

Anyone have any ideas? or do we have to wait for patch 1.80...

humbly yours

derek the world wide tour guide

Isn't the Imperial Guards Division commanded by the Tigger of Malaya? It's pretty simple; he jumped from Chittagong to Port Moresby and then bounced (on impact) to Townsville!

You will have to wait for the next official patch and hope that it fixes the bug, Ragtop. And even if it does fix the cause, don't expect it to move units that have teleported back to where you think they should be. Ain't gonna happen.
This game does not have a learning curve. It has a learning cliff.

Any bugs I report are always straight stock games.

And that patch would be coming out in..........

T= Time to patch. B= bugs fixed b=Bugs created s= size of patch

T=B2(b+s)

Michaelm was gracious enough to try and fix the unit location, but even after he placed the IG div back at Chittagong, it still flew to Townsville!

ugh...

Units = T is expressed in fortnights.
B = is expressed in number of bytes
s = number of bytes.

Kaleun, since b (3 of new bugs created) is both a function of B (bug fixed) and s (size of patch) I propose an alternate equation:

where n=number of complaints about a particular unplanned feature (bug).

T=B2(Bs/B+s)^n
