We can embed photos from third sites in these forums. Is it possible to embed videos hosted on sites like youtube here?

Well I managed to get a small video converted to a .gif (5MB) and host it on imgur - but it does not seem to embed here as it does with jpg. How do I embed gifs - which for me may mean how/where do I host them and which url should I use here?
