Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. CSV sub directory under WitW folder

Post by scout1 »

I noticed a CSV sub directory (which was empty) under the DAT sub directory.

I seen a number of games (some of which were mod'd for this) which permits game data to be extracted out to a *.csv file which can then be loaded/manipulated in Excel for off turn analysis. This can be useful in larger, more complex games. WitP-AE has this capability. Does WitW currently have the capability of extracting data to a *csv file ?

Yes. There is a CSV tab in editor.

If it's in the editor, then it supports the editor.

I'm guessing (rightly or wrongly) that if I wanted to extract data from an on-going game between turns, I'm out of luck ....?

Yes, so far it is only editor's function.
