corrupted text in menu screen

Post by wga8888 »

Is there a solution for this? I likely knew a few years ago, tying to help a new player.

Add it after the end quote in the target line in the properties of your shortcut file that you activate to run the game.

You can set up a short cut file to go past the opening screen and menu, and straight to the game load screen.

Bill, if this is not clear, send me a PM and I'll send you a copy of my shortcut file. With any necessary adjustments to the path in the target line, it should work.

yes please send.

its not a problem on my computer but the new player's computer, he is an older gent with limited computer knowledge.

are you saying it may run diffently using the shortcut vs navigating to the original .exe file in the Matrix or directory holding the unzipped application?

What I use is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.exe" -conf

Is he running the game in dos box?

Edit - the -altFont switch is for WitP, not this game. Running in dos box cured some problems I had going through carrier details to air group details without using the hot keys.
