The Pleasure Center of the Brain??

Post by Footslogger »

Do people play games because it stimulates the pleasure center on the brain?

Does this mean that hardcore gamers are junkies?[X(]

I don't know anything about that subject. Im a pretty good Pacific War history buff but science leaves me in the dust. All I can tell you is that I play games because I really enjoy it.
After 16 years, Civ II still has me in it's clutches LOL!!!
Now CIV IV has me in it's evil clutches!

I play games to stimulate the thinking centers of my brain. Internet porn is for the pleasure centers... but we all need to keep our mental facilities sharp and there is little better than games like WITP for that!

No, that's your other 'brain' doing that, or so the wife says.

I don't know how scientific this is, but I was whooping and cheering all around the room after scoring my first Brilliant Victory in Unity of Command's Race to Rostov scenario.

There is a lot of evidence that playing complicated games such as we do will help put off late life diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer's. Any good game that works the mind will help. Chess, bridge and so on.

This is the justification that I give to my wife when I plop down some coin on another one...
