"PWHEX data differs" message

Post by pws1225 »

Quick question, if you please. Dr. Hal and I are in the midst of a PBEM game and since we updated from the last official release, we have gotten the "PWHEX data differs" message when we load turns. We are currently running beta release q4 released in September (I think). The game appears to be running fine with no noticable problems, but I am wondering what gives rise to this message and whether it's something to be concerned about.

Thanks in advance, Paul

Yes it does matter for supply distribution and land movement.
Also affects combat resolution, are you noticing a sync bug during combat?

To fix this both of you need to go into the game folder and look at the pwhex file and its date.
Whoever has the most current one should email it to the other player.

Then drop the most current file into the game folder.

Voila!!!

Thanks Halsey. No, I haven't noticed any differences between the combat replay and the combat reports, so I guess that part is okay. We'll check into the dates of the pwhexe.dat files and update as you suggest.

Thanks again, Paul

Just a follow up that Halsey's suggestion fixed things up nicely. No more "PWHEXE data differs" warning.

Many thanks, Paul

You are very welcome, enjoy your game.[;)]

Should I plug the art mods again?
They really bring a lot into the game.[:D]

Yes please DO... where do you get them from and where do you put them into the game, sorry if these are dumb questions, but I don't want to mess things up and do it wrong, Paul and I have invested a lot in the present game to include blood, sweat, toil and tears..

These don't affect gameplay at all.
It'll help build some affinity with the units that you use.[;)]

Instructions on my download page for LCU/AGP artwork.
All you need are two new in game art folders.
There are seperate instructions for the air art replacements and rotating art.

BigB's stuff gets put into the ship backs and shills for each respective side in the art folder.
The pink ones are the shills.[;)]
The direct replacements are what you need to update the game ship graphics.
IJN ships are only a partial list of some CV's and cruisers.

If you have any questions go to Michaelm's very first post in the art mod thread.
It gives a more detailed approach.

This thread gives a visual of what they look like.
