Questions about Critical, Dying, Death and Healing.

Post by MrLoadsOfQuestion »

1)Can i do anything to prevent blood lost of -1hp per round when my Mercs are in the critical or dying stage?

2)Is there any equipment that can help my Merc regain my HP during the tactical phase in the middle of a combat?

3)How exactly does the first aid kit help in the middle of the battle?

4)When death occurs, the mercs are gone permanently right? If so why is it that they still show that they lose their stats by XX points, who the heck cares about stats lost when they are gone forever.

5)I want to clarify that blood lost stays only at the rate of -1hp per turn right or will they increase depending on the ammo type that hit them ,and blood lost are only cause when they have less than 50% hp due to any kind of damage or by a critical shot only right?

6)What are the accurate various levels of the HP status of a Merc (Egs. Strong->Healthy->Weak->Critical->Dying->Dead) ?

7)So when my Mercs are injured and when they are out of the tactical phase and on the big strategic map ,the healing process takes over automactically dependng on their medic stats without any external first aid kits required right?

8)Healing speeds up when a doctor is assign to them right? If so does the doctor also gain a bonus healing acceleration from the process?

[ol][*]Have you tried healing them with a medikit while in combat? BTW, the -1 starts at "Bad".
[*]No.
[*]It prevents further hp loss due to bleeding.[*]Bad coding by the programmers.

3. also gives a little HP bump when applied

not sure if they heal by themselfs, but with a Doc they do

looks like the Doc can also heal themselfs

they also can learn skills while healing

7) Not sure

8) Mercs will heal pretty quickly if assigned as "patients" and are placed in a separate squad with a merc that has been assigned as a "Doctor". I had three very injured mercs after the DAM fight, but after spending a day with "Pitbull" as my doc, two out of the three were completely healed, and Pitbull healed himself, too.

I just had a Merk who was hurt, fired his weapon and then went dark, after that he had no AP, I got to him and healed him up some and he got healthy enough, that he was able to begain firing again (only 11 AP)

For 6) HP Status---

Strong-> over 80

Healthy-> around 60-70

Weak-> below 60

Bad-> 30-40

Critical-> below 30

Dying-> below 15

Dead-> 0

Later into the game there is a item called regenerator. It's a one_time item, heal about 25 - up depending
on medic skill. Max I get from 85 skill is about 35 HP

Edit: Thanks ShadoWarrior, I'll put it in.

Thanks. That's very useful to know!

But you missed the step called "Bad" that's between Weak and Critical.

Reply to Q1.
The way is, DONT click on the merc ever.
Once you click on him / her, they'll lose blood.
I have one merc having 8 health point left and I didn't click on him, not even to escape, leave him on that spot.
Luckily, no enemy squad shoot at him and was healed afterwards.
So, better wait ya team doctor to walk towards that merc and cure him, in the meantime, use "lying" mode.
HOWEVER, once he's healed on the field, the enemies would start shooting at him again, so, that's why I never bother to heal critically injured mercs.

Sounds like a bug to me. Or at least a poor design decision. I would prefer the merc to lose blood unless he/she gets treated by a med kit.
