Symbols and Data on map

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Symbols and Data on map

Post by Rainer »

Trying to decipher numbers on the map I made a screenshot of the US First Armored Brigade (part of it) from Torch / Rommel attacks.
Please confirm that my decipher (in yellow) are correct (and if not so what the numbers really mean).
I admit I have trouble to find those data in the manual.

Yes, the 200 is the SMP (strategic MPs), which is for rail and sea transport.

Joel, thanks for quick answer.
The other values, especially the CVs (Attack, Defense) are also correct?
And where is that explained in the manual (7.5 Combat Units is not clear about this)?

yah you have the attack/defense correct. you can use the "z" key to toggle between defense and movement displayed, IIRC

One place it's explained is in the Players Guide -- One Page Guide #1, Section 10 in lower right corner.

Thanks
Rick

You got me [:)]
Reading the manual is obviously not sufficient. To memorize seems to be key[;)]
Thanks a lot.
