Game crash on TOE view

Post by morvael »

- select a unit with multiple TOE upgrades remaining
- go to TOE view and use the "Next TOE(OB)" button a few times
- press C to open Commander's Report
- select a unit with no TOE upgrades remaininig
- click unit x,y (to display it's details window)
- go to TOE view
- the right column will still show the TOE of previous unit
- use the "Prev TOE(OB)" button, the game will hang

attached picture - just before hang

[&o] I confirmed this. Quite an impressive number of steps to go through. Just remembering what you did was quite a feat. Were you looking for a crash, or did you just stumble on it?

It's just that I prefer keyboard shortcuts to clicking mouse, and I was examining various TOE upgrades that are awaiting my units from inside the Commander's Report (so I didn't have to close the TOE window to go back, just pressed C again and again). It was quite natural to stumble on it in such circumstances.

Besides I found it a while ago, only now I felt the need to share with you :) I'm sure I have found out several similar bugs while navigating in the game using keyboard & CR heavily. From what Helpless said about the casualties screen, the game behaves differenlty when you close window by using mouse and clicking X button than when you "exit" by opening another window using a shortcut. This inconsistency may be a source of those bugs.
