The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Any additional info on the editor would be really good. In particular can you expand the map size? 10km per hex is the sweet spot IMO, but expanding the scope of the game would be awesome.

The editor that is included is still in 'alpha test'.
However for those of you owning Advanced Tactics (Gold) it will be very familair (and similair).
You can change more then you'd like to change. Trust me.
I aim to include a few tutorials on the editor to show how to make some minor modifications and also how to set up a completely new scenario from scratch.
GUI of the engine will support most of what you can do with the editor.
AI will only support changes that keep things close to the original scenarios.

Best,
Vic

yes you can edit:
-maps
-landscapes
-rivers
-roads/rails
-trooptypes
-peoples
-historical models for units
-units themselves
-officers
-most rules (like the high command rules and axis minor rules) are scripted through events (over 200 checks and execs available) that can be edited, a lot of other hardcoded rules (like battle calculations) can be influenced by setting rule variables.

the editor aint easy. but with some documentation i hope most players can make small changes and a few bright scenario designers will be able to make stuff from scratch.

best,
Vic

Sounds a lot like the AT editor [:)]

Are Events still edited via the GUI or can you import text files?

No its still GUI editing only. There are text exports but not imports. You can however import events from other scenarios.

I posted a few questions about Case Blue in the DC forum as I didn't know this forum was up yet... Vic, part of one of my questions in the DC forum has been answered here. I have another question about the editor that I hope you can answer though.

If I decided to make a scenario about Kursk or later on the war and wanted to add the Panther tank for example, what art assest, if any, would we be able to use? I love the art work in the game by the way. The art is by Nicolas Eskubi?

The panther is not included in the art delivered with DC2. So if you would want to create a panther, you would have to "provide" the artwork yourself.
