WW2 WARGAMES CLUB FOR GENTLEMEN – Members wanted
Following the comments on The Blitz and Matrix CS Forums about my
site, I would say the following :-
Far from being a risky place to register, I can assure you that it is only by monitoring who joins that I can bar disruptive individuals from joining and ruining a club that the members are enjoying, albeit a handful at the moment. Already I have had false game reports being made on the site by an outsider and that is why I monitor applications, not a power mad ego as I'm accused of having. Such is the childish mentality of some people on the forums, I just don't want them on my site, simple as that.
Along with a Blitz member attempting to join my site just to spy on what's going on for the their' site members, (not suprising his application to join was rejected, - as he replied when fronted, quote – ''understood'').
There is nothing sinister about my club and my tag or the fact you need to be accepted when joining membership, nor that I request your password on my site's forum, that is my way of securing that only registered members are able to access the forum and report games. 'The Master' is my ladyfriend's nickname for me and, as I designed this site on a Victorian Gentlemens' club theme, I felt 'Master' of the house was the tag I would choose. It is just a monicker, nothing to do with ego tripping as some have alleged and I know a few of my friends here can attest to that!
Anyway, I have now removed the tag 'Master' and replaced it with 'Peter Glint'. Im sure many of the wargaming fraternity will now know who I am!
In maintaining a rigid monitoring of the acceptance of new members, I hope to keep a safe, pleasant site alive. Due to my lack of knowledge running web sites, I am merely trying to protect our site.
Above all else, be sure that joining this site is a safe and enjoyable place to join, nothing more sinister than that, lol!
A few have been personal friends for some years in here so, forget the propaganda you may read about me at other sites.
My site has also been registered at http://hist-sdc.com a highly reputable site and further endorsement to the validity of
my site.
So, take a look and join up ! Matrix ; Gary Grigsby's War in the East' is also included at the site if you are looking for
opponents!

Does this mean that "Torpoint" and "Noissy" are the same person?
Or, just another layer of the former "mystery" that we were fed?
BTW, I am asking in case I want to join myself. I'd like to start over from scratch with my CS play.

Anything that you feel comfortable playing.
Yes, Erik does have a few games under his belt? [X(]
K'talyn and Korea are out because they crash when I try to save in them. Have yet to figure it out.

Hmm, so you can open a scenario? If you like, can you go into Windows Explorer, and just left-click once on either the Korean or K'talan folder, and write me what the address bar says the location is? Or, better yet, a screenshot?
Erik is a good guy, really enjoy playing against him, and always willing to play another one!!

RE: Re: WW2 Wargames Club for Gentlemen update
Good to hear ! Look forward to your applications guys.
A handful of guys are in the club now and even got
Gary Grigsby's Matrix WITE going with two guys.
Nothing sinister about asking for my guys forum passwords,
just had some intrusions so making sure I know who I'm talking
to in the site.
For instance, received this e-mail -
''First Name: Mr.Last Name: SmithE-mail: abcdefg@hij.comSubject: Your ClubYour Message: A club run by someone who calls himself "The Master", with locked forums and game reporting, secret / obscured member listings, and members required to give their real names and surrender their passwords to "The Master" is a dictatorship that will attract few players. Who wants to operate in such an environment? I give this club 6 months before you pull the plug on it.''
Pretty sad guy who posts that, seeing the criticism I received for staying incognito?
I've had good wishes from various quarters and not one of my members
have questioned me about my asking them for their forum password for the site.
As Shakespeare said, ''Much ado about nothing'' !
If you are going to be a genuine member, join in, if not, stay where you are, your choice guys?
My club is staying and it will be a sound club. All are welcome.
regards
Noissy

RE: Re: The Wargamers Club for Gentlemen
I would like to invite you all to join a new wargames club. The club
is a new one and is looking for more members.
The club facilitates all games and eras, with ladders, forum etc.
A quick browse through the website pages will explain the whole essence of this new club. Hopefully, an invigorating,
new start for many jaded members of some other sites as well as
a new place for new gamers to join in a place where they are made
to feel welcome.
We welcome some of the notaries from other wargaming sites for their' knowledge, advice and input as well.
Please take the time to inspect the site and contact us and hopefully, join membership.
By all means, invite other old wargaming friends to visit the site as well.

(Please note: This is not spam, merely an attempt to promote a new
club and attract new members into the club.)

Marketing a new "gentleman's" wargame club, while at the same time targeting comments at other communities a la "160 idiots" is a bit of an oxymoron don't you think?

I'm sure that Karma will prevail?
We'll find out soon enough when one of his members posts something he does not agree with?
Then there will be "161 idiots"?

RE: Re: The Wargamers Club for Gentlemen
Why say I'm targeting my comments at other clubs? Being a bit paranoid there.
I'm happy with the way the club is going and more are joining but, best of
all, they are members that welcome the concept of the club and are aware that
this sort of trashy posts won't be tolerated in the club and, I'm happy in
knowing it's a group of members who won't cause any disruption. A refreshing
change from some characters I could mention but wont.[8|]

Lord knows you would deny him passage if he dared to disagree with you on anything? Or, even call you out on your displayed hypocrisy?

Get a life Ed [:'(]
You make it blatantly obvious why my club
attracts guys who are fed up of the disruptive
elements at other sites.
160 members? I don't care if I only have 50, as
long as they all enjoy the environment and are
happy, along with avoiding the likes of you buddy.

I came to this thread yesterday, and thought the "marketing slogan" to be a bit peculiar. Still do, actually. But maybe it is just me. That is all.
