Two 1st SS Panzer Divisions

Post by Gremell »

I'm currently up to February 1945 in the campaign game playing the Germans. I'm still holding Leningrad, Moscow and Rostov and in good enough condition to contemplate a small offensive with the newly arrived 6th SS Panzer Army.

One minor problem: I now have two 1st SS Panzer Divisions. It never withdrew in 1944. Another version of it has arrived with the 6th SS Panzer Army.

I started my campaign game with version 1.03.05 and I'm now using version 1.05.37

It's a wonderful game. I've really enjoyed the challenges it has posed.

For clarity's sake: you have the amount of SS divisions that you should have by this point, plus 1 additional 1st SS Panzer division? You're sure it's not a renaming bug, where some other SS division was also renamed to 1st SS Panzer Division?

Yes, it does appear to be an additional 1st SS Panzer. I already have all the divisions I should at that stage. It is also a very powerful division, so that really narrows the field at that stage of the war.

Any chance you still have a save from earlier in the game (prior to the withdrawal in 44 that should have happened)? We looked at the data and it looks correct. It's possible that changes made over the past months somehow impacted your game as you switched versions (or that there was a problem that has since been fixed), but that's only a guess and there could in fact still be a problem. Please post the save if you have it (or email to 2by3@2by3games.com. Thanks.

it appears to be a data setup mistake. At least in the 1941 GC I have, 1st SS PzD is set to withdraw at turn 152, but arrival is set to 190. Next one never withdraws.

Still not fixed..

Unit #1284 should have withdrawal turn of 152 zeroed out.
Unit #1285 should have this withdrawal turn of 152.

The same problem in the 1942 scenario, just other ID (1245 and 1159) 1158 and 1244 in 1943 scen and I assume some more/all are affected.

It's been fixed in the data in the campaigns and will be in 1.05.42 (hopefully by Wednesday). This will only be fixed in new games.
