VB,VS,VT attacks

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-Latest v, scen.9, early 1/43.

Will carrier capable VB,VS and VT set to "Naval Attack" attack enemy SS that are spoted and in range? Or, must they be set to "ASW"?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

I've never seen a sub attacked by any naval attack missioned aircraft. Perhaps it is possible, but I've never seen it.

It used to happen a lot with searching planes in WITP but don't even think I have seen a searcher drop a bomb on a sub in AE. However as far as I know it has never happened on naval attack. Makes sense, these planes are held in reserve in expectation of shipping attacks. They really would not be sent out to bomb a sub as by the time they got there the sub would be gone or sunk.

only on nav search or asw. Naval attack never attacks a sub, at least I have never heard nor seen it.
