Looking for DaBigBabes game

Post by Kitakami »

Greets all,

I am looking for three players: 1 Japanese partner and 2 Allied opponents to play a DaBigBabes campaign. Preferably players that have played DaBabesLite and/or have studied the BigBabes beta. I can do a turn most days (not all, sometimes work is heavy and, sorry, but work comes first). HRs negotiable, as long as they are reasonable. Time zone is GMT-6.

Post if there is any interest.

Cheers!

Willing to take on the Allies as one team member. I am US EST (EDT). What is that? GMT -5?

Accually Greenwich is a place in England it is generally accepted that latitude zero is passes through greenwich. Which makes east of Greenwich plus hours. Because east is always ahead of west in terms of time. Greenwich is the oldest time adjustment line. But it was mainly for navigational purposes.

Sorry for not replying before... busiest week of the year at work, compunded with the soccer world cup (GO NEDERLAND :D ).

@guctony, you'd be my partner n the Japanese side.
@vettim89, you would be one of the allies.
@Zigurat666, are you interested in joining the Allied side? Or was just post just a comment on GMT?

All players, what houuse rules would you like to play with?

I would prefere PDU-on, Realistic R&D-off, 15 day reinforcement delay, historical US torpedo, 1 day turns, and a possibilty to attack Manila PH at the same time.

And I would welcome discussion on high altitude sweeps, strategic bombing from china, low level naval bombing by B-17, etc

You know, that is pretty much the average JFB's ultimate wish list for game settings.

1. PDU-on = ok
2. Realistic R&D off = prefer on
3. +/- 15 Day Reinforcements = ok
4. Realistic US torpedoes = ok
5. One day turns = most are playing 2-day now but ok
6. Multiple Port attacks on turn 1 - no

Of those points, only #6 is non-negotiable for me.

HR:

1. No Strategic Bombing before 1944 either side
2. PP must be paid for units to cross national boundaries
3. No 4-E NavAttack below 15 k
4. Escalating Sweep alt: '41-42 max 25k, '43 30 k, 44-45 35k

others are ok bu I would like to insist R&D but to insist I have to consel Kitakami.

For sweep I have another suggestion too. No figter sweeps higher then its second best figting altitude.

rest is ok for me

The second best alt thing has merit. I need to look at the database before I agree. Also I hate to be speaking for the team when I as yet have no partner

Hmm...

I would be most comfortable with:

1. PDU-on
2. Realistic R&D on ****** this is the counterbalance for PDU-on. Otherwise Japanese air production can become crazy (it can get feisty even with this on... believe me... I've made it so... don't worry guctony, we can take them! :) )
3. +/- 15 Day Reinforcements
4. Realistic US torpedoes
5. One day turns ***** game takes longer than war, but this is what I personally am best at
6. Multiple Port attacks on turn 1: EITHER Pearl Harbour OR Manila/Singapore.

HR:

1. No Strategic Bombing before 1944 either side
2. PP must be paid for units to cross national boundaries ***** that includes Korea <-> Manchuria for realism
3. No 4-E NavAttack below 15 k ***** I'd accept 12K, so 15K is fine with me.
4. Escalating Sweep alt: no figter sweeps higher then its second best figting altitude. ***** I believe this is the best compromise I've seen so far.

Others:

Aiming for 1 turn a day, with reasonable exceptions allowed for.

@guctony: what would you prefer, IJA or IJN? I can go with either.
@all: would any of you be interested in writting an AAR? I think it would make for very interesting reading.

That all looks good to me. Yes I planned on writing an AAR. Are you suggesting a joint AAR?

I don't know if a joint AAR would do the game justice, but definitely both sides should do one.

I'm at work now, but I will want to get clarification on the HRs 1, 2, and 4. Mostly I want to make sure I know what to expect and what I can and can not do.

Some settings not addressed:

1. Advanced weather on
2. Auto subs off
3. Allied DC on
4. FOW on
5. Historical first turn off but only Allied ships in TF's already may plot movement
6. Dec. 7th Surprise on
