Siege artillery

Post by hjaco »

Using siege artillery against a fortress has a 33 % chance of destroying it completely or otherwise reducing it by one level.

Does it matter using 2 artillery guns against say Verdun ? As far as i have observed the answer would be no.

More guns does not equal more barrages - just a larger single barrage. In other words, the hex is only attacked once but with more guns.
That's my observation.

Yes the hex is attacked only once, but AFAIK the effects of siege artillery on trenches/fortifications aer calculated seperately and for each firing unit - so 2 units would each have a 33% chance of destroying the fort - or about 55% total, and will destroy a minimum of 2 levels.

Yes, the siege artillery type effects are not totalled, they attack separately.
