PCK.kml is an operational demonstration of the second battle of Kharkov May 1942, as featured in Koios Works and Matrix Games next installment in the Panzer Command series, Panzer Command: Kharkov.
In order to maximize your enjoyment of this program please follow these simple steps:
Step 1. Download the latest version of Google Earth (GE). (Older versions of GE had bugs which would not allow the tour to work correctly.)
Step 2. Download and unzip PCK.kml to your computer and double click on it (or open it from the file menu of GE), this will open the Kharkov data into GE.
Step 3. In your temporary places you should now have a new folder called Panzer Command Kharkov, double click on this to open it, you will be zoomed to the Ukraine. It may be worthwhile panning around the Kharkov area first to make sure your data caches are filled.
Step 4. Deselect the Primary Database in the Layers Frame which is found on the left side of GE. This will ensure that no extraneous data gets overlayed on the Kharkov demo.
Step 5. You will notice two subdirectories, "German Operations" and "Place Names". Make sure that the check box next to "Place Names" is selected. This ensures all place names are displayed.
Step 6. Now expand the content under "German Operations"
by clicking the plus sign next to it, this will give you two further subdirectories
"Day by Day" and "Tour Engagements". You know can enjoy the operational demonstration is several ways:
Each battlefield and several features/units are hyperlinked so click on them to bring up further information, it is possible to view the debriefing screens for each of the tactical battles in this way.
Enjoy!
